What do I do if I notice an error on the site?
There are a couple of kinds of errors that need to be identified, communicated, and fixed. It is most useful for us to isolate the problem if you are as descript as possible about any error you notice.
The first kind of error is a SCRIPT ERROR. This error occurs when there is bad data in the database, bad programming, or a server related problem occurred. When notifying us of such an error, please include the error message itself, what page you saw the error on, or what you were doing when the error occurred, as well as the browser you are using (including type of computer) and your connection speed if you know it.
The second kind of error is connection or environment related. For instance, if you submit a form and the server fails to respond, or if you are experiencing excruciatingly painful download times. This error could also be related to the type of environment you are in; in which case you might see distorted looking pages, overlapping text, or a whole slew of other discrepancies. This error is less common, and more difficult to track down, however it is still useful information to us to know about it. When notifying us of such an error, please include a description of what you experienced, as well as the browser you are using (including type of computer) and your connection speed if you know it.
